This 20 night 21 day superb Bird watching tour gives you the birds of the high alpine zone of the Himalayan Langtang National Park which lies between the Himalayan peaks close the Tibetan border and the sub-tropical Terai lowland birds of Chitwan National Park. The Park also offers you a very exciting wildlife tour and there is amazing sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley.

Day 1 :
Day One

<p>Meet at the airport and drive to Hotel </p><p>Welcome Drink </p><p>Check in hotel </p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch, Refresh and Rest at the Hotel. </p><p>6: 00 pm- Introduction to Nepal and overview of trip itinerary </p><p>7: 00 pm- Overnight and dinner at hotel. </p>

Day 2 :
Day Two

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- 10 Hour scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche </p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>6: 00 pm- Check in lodge at Dhunche for dinner and overnight stay </p><p> </p>

Day 3 :
Day Three

<p>6: 00 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- Walk east from Dunche to the start of the Syabru Walk. This is a steep climb through forest to reach Bharku at 1845m. At Bharku there is an interesting forest for birds and on the climb up through the forest to the ridge at 2300m and then down again to Syabru you can see species of Mountain Hawk Eagle, Black and Bonelli's Eagles, Collard Owlet, Kalij Pheasant, Speckled Wood Pigeons and several species of Wabblers, Tits, Fulvetta, Bush Robins, Flycatchers.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch Break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Over night at Syabru </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at the lodge.</p>

Day 4 :
Day Four

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p></p><p>7: 00 am- Today the trek continues through the forests above Syabru with good opportunities to see plenty of birds including several species of Flycatcher, Wabblers, Minla, Eagles, Variety of Thrushes. The trail descends through villages and more forests before going up a stream in moist deciduous forests and crossing the river to the north to Chongdong at 2380m.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch Break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at Chongdong </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at the lodge.</p>

Day 5 :
Day Five

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- Again the trail goes through forest on the north side of the Langtang Khola and then climbs steeply to Ghore Tabela at 2880m. The vegetation on this stretch changes from moist deciduous forest to more mature coniferous trees and scrub. The bird species likely to be seen are the Himalayan Griffon, Golden Eagle, Himalayan Monal and various species of Robins, Flycatchers, Thrushes, Rose finches, Grosbeak, Tits, Warblers.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch Break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at the lodge in Ghore Tabela </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at the lodge.</p>

Day 6 :
Day Six

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- Continuing to climb the trail goes up the valley passing several of the settlements in Langtang at 3305m. The National Park Headquarters is located here. The birds that can be seen on this day are Mrs Gould’s Sunbird, Green Shrike- Babbler, Pink-browed Rosefinch, Rufous –tailed Flycatcher and several species of Minlas, Fulvettas, Yuhinas, Warblers.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch Break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at a lodge in Langtang </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at the lodge. </p>

Day 7 :
Day Seven

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- Climbing gradually up the Valley through fields and crossing several moraines to the alpine pastures the trail reaches Kyanjin Gompa at 3750m. On this trip the panoramic views of Langtang are the most striking and the bird species that can be seen include the Ibis bill, Snow Partridge, Tibetan Snow Cock, Himalayan Snowcock, Blood Pheasant, Himalayan Monal and several species of Flycatchers, Yuhinas, Fulvettas, Tits, Warblers and Laughing Thrushes. </p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch Break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at as lodge in Kyanjin </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at the lodge.</p>

Day 8 :
Day Eight

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p></p><p>7: 00 am- A day trip up the ridge north of Kyanji to Yala hill. Today there are opportunities to see the high altitude bird species like the Tibetan Snow Cock, Grandala, Red-billed and Yellow-billed Chough and Altai and Alpine Accentors.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at a hotel in Kyanji </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel</p>

Day 9 :
Day Nine

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- Return to Kathmandu on the same trail via Ghore Tabela, Dhunche and Trisuli taking another four days</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at a hotel in the River lodge near Ghore Tabela </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel</p>

Day 10 :
Day Ten

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- A gentle day walking down through forests and villages to Bharku </p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at a hotel in Bharku </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel.</p>

Day 11 :
Day Eleven

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 30 am- Another day descending slowly down through forests and villages taking in beautiful scenery.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at a hotel in Dhunche </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel.</p>

Day 12 :
Day Twelve

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- 5 hour scenic drive to Trisuli </p><p>1: 30 pm- Check in at hotel in Trisuli, refresh and lunch </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel.</p>

<p>6.30 am- Breakfast at the Hotel </p><p>7:30 am- Drive to the Chitwan National Park, the Land of the Rhino </p><p>1:00 pm- Refresh Lunch and Rest at the Hotel </p><p>3:00 pm- Visit the visitor information center and short bird watching trip. </p><p>5:30 pm- Refresh, tea and coffee watching the beautiful sunset on the river bank. </p><p>6:30 pm- A slide presentation of the birds and wildlife in the Chitwan National Park. </p><p>8:00 pm- Dinner at the Hotel </p>

Day 15 :
Day Fifteen

<p>6.30 am- Breakfast at the Hotel </p><p>7.00 am- Start with an hour long dugout canoe trip. After the canoeing you will begin a full day exploring inside the Chitwan National Park walking and bird watching. There are three different types of habitat in the Park Grasslands, Riverine forest and the moist deciduous forest, which grows along the water courses and on the gravel banks. This Park is a well preserved National Conservation Area where the bird watching is fantastic. Species to look out for are the Great and Pied Hornbill, the Greater Himalayan and Black Rumped Flam Back, the Small Scarlet Minivet, the Chestnut-bellied and Velvet Fronted Nuthatch, the Rose-ringed Alexandrine, the Red-breasted and Plum-headed Parakeet, the Chestnut-capped Striped Tit, the Striated Slender-billed Babbler, the Jorden Babbler, the Lesser Adjutant Grey-crowned Prinia, the White-browed and White-throated Fantail, several Indian pea-Fowl, species of Flycatchers, Bush and leaf Warblers, Eagles, Falcons and Quills. Not only will you see birds but jungle mammals like Rhino, Deer, and Monkeys can be observed in this environment.</p><p>5:30 pm- Refresh at the Hotel with tea and coffee, sunset viewing at the river bank and trip evaluation.</p><p>7: 00 pm- Dinner at the Hotel</p>

Day 16 :
Day Sixteen

<p>6:30 am- Breakfast at the Hotel </p><p>7:00 am- Today is a four-wheel drive safari covering all three types of habitat as well as some ox-bow lakes. This trip includes exciting views from the watchtower where it is possible to see many types of birds including several species of Wood Peckers, Parakeets, Pigeons, Cuckoo Shrikes, Magpies, Babblers, Prinias, Storks, Flycatchers, Eagles, Warblers and Starlings. We also visit the rare Crocodile Breeding Farm and there will be many chances to see large mammals - Rhino, Deer, Sloth Bears, Gaurs, and if you are lucky a Tiger may surprise you by his sudden appearance. Lunch will be at the watch tower.</p><p>5:30 pm- Refresh tea and coffee at the Hotel, trip evaluation and sun set viewing on the river bank. </p><p>7:00 pm- Dinner at the Hotel.</p>

<p>6:30 am- Breakfast at the Hotel </p><p>7:00 am- Drive to the Twenty thousand lakes by four-wheel drive. A four hour walk in this area bird watching for several species of forest and water birds such as Storks, Herons, Egrets, Magpies, Grey headed fish Eagles, Brown fish Owls, Greater Himalayan and Black rumped Flamback, Crested serpent Eagle and Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Warblers and Parakeets. The lake is surrounded by well preserved Sal forest, which is a famous corridor forest of the Chitwan National Park. The lake has been recently listed as a RAMSAR site in the Wetland International Convention for its significant importance to the wildlife of Nepal.</p><p>12: Noon- Lunch at the Hotel and Rest. </p><p>1:30 pm- The afternoon begins with an elephant walk lasting for 1-1/2 hrs. The elephant driver will show you animals such as Rhino, Deer, Wild Boar and maybe even a Tiger. This trip will give you an unforgettable life time experience riding on one of the biggest animals on earth.</p><p>4: 00 pm- Trip to Elephant breeding center to see lovely baby Elephants. </p><p>5:30 pm- Refresh with tea and coffee at the Hotel and trip evaluation. </p><p>7:30 pm- Dinner and dance at the Hotel. The dance will be performed by the malaria resistant indigenous THARU people, who are the largest ethnic group of the Chitwan valley. This evening's entertainment is very interesting and great fun, please don't hesitate to join in with them when they invite you to dance.</p>
