This 18 night 19 day trip offers an excellent bird watching experience of Nepal’s high Himalayan birds in the Annapurna Sanctuary and the tropical birds of the lowland terai. The trek provides some spectacular Mountain scenery and the wildlife safari in the Chitwan National Park is a birdwatcher’s paradise. Some of these birds like the Slender billed Scimitar Babbler, Golden Babbler, Golden Breasted Fulvetta and Fulvous Parrotbill are difficult to find elsewhere in Nepal.

<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- Start the trek by walking up the valley then climbing steadily up the ridge and through the settlement and terraced fields to Dhampus at 1600m. Continue climbing through secondary forests to Pothana at 2035m. <p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- This day the trail goes along the ridge to Deorali, descends steeply down to Bichok at 1830m and the Ghirsung Khola, a tributary of the Modi Khola. Through moist oak forests and terraced fields high above the Modi khola the path passes the villages of Tolka at 1820m and Medi at 1815m to reach Landrung at 1715m. The birds to be seen include Red Headed and Black Vultures, Black and Bonnelli’s Eagle, Common Hill Partridge, Barred Cuckoo Dove, Golden-throated Barbet and Mountain Hawk-Eagle.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at hotel in Land-rung</p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel</p>
<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast </p><p>7: 00 am- This day starts by walking down through the fields to the Modi Khola at 1440m and then across the Modi Khol to climb up through the forests to Himalkyo at 1540m. Going north up the Modi Khola Valley, still in forest, we climb steeply up through terraced fields and secondary scrub with clumps of trees to reach Chomrong at 2050m. The birds here are the Slaty- Backed and Spotted Forktails, Chest-Crowned and Black-faced Warblers, Chestnut-Headed Tesia and Greater and Lesser Scaly- Breasted Wren-Babblers.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at hotel Chomrong </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel.</p>
<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast at hotel </p><p>7: 00 am- Today we walk through oak, Rhododendron and bamboo forests descending to the Chomrong Khola at 1890m, cross the river and climb to about 2325m before entering the main Modi khola valley again to Khuldi at 2550m. The valley is thickly forested and higher up the valley the bamboo becomes more prominent. The birds here include Satyr Tragopan, Himalayan Monal, Speckled and Ashy Woodpigeons, Orange- Rumped Honey Guide, Great and Fulvous Parrotbills, Golden-breasted Fulvetta and Black-headed Shrike- Babbler.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at hotel in Khuldi</p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel.</p>
<p>6: 30 am- Breakfast at hotel </p><p>7: 00 am- Another day climbing through tall, dense bamboo jungles the valley eventually widens and the bamboo gradually becomes shorter and thinner. We continue along a slope covered in azalea and cotoneaster scrub, short bamboo and some birch trees to the Deorali Pass at 3220M, then go up again before climbing down to Bagar 3300M. Walking along less steep and criss cross moraine with scrub and moss-covered birch trees we enter the Sanctuary at about 3500m and reach Machhapuchare Base Camp at 3703m. Crossing the grass and scrub-covered moraine we continue west and climb gradually to the Annapurna Base camp at 4130m. This is a very cold and windy place with few birds, but the views are magnificent as the base camp is closely surrounded by high peaks including the Annapurna, Machapuchre and Himchuli</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch break </p><p>5: 30 pm- Overnight at hotel in Machhapuchre base camp </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner at hotel.</p>

This lies within the corridor forest of the Chitwan National Park whose lakes are famous for bird watching and game viewing and it is listed as a RAMSAR Site by the Wetland International Convention. The bird species likely to be seen here include several species Parakeets, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Warblers, Woodshrike, Oriental Darter and Grey Headed Fish Eagle as well as mammals, like the Greater one-horned Rhino, Monkey and Deer.</p><p>1: 00 pm- Lunch at hotel </p><p>2: 00 pm- Elephant walk going deep into the jungle in search of wildlife such as Greater one-horned Rhino and the elusive Bengal tiger as well as birds.</p><p>5: 30 pm- Sunset views from the river bank with drinks. </p><p>6: 30 pm- Dinner with traditional dancing performed by the indigenous Tharu people.</p>
